Insert, Remove and Update Objects

Insert Objects

First, you need to export the 3D model you have made in your 3D software to a file in OBJ format. Then you can import it to Unfolder in the following ways:

You can also insert the objects from another Unfolder document (.ufd file). In this case, the unfolded patches will add to this document directly without re-unfolding.

Unfolder Sync can be used to more quickly insert objects if you model in Blender, Cinema 4D or Maya.

Remove Objects

To remove objects, select them with the Select Tool and choose Edit > Delete (Command-Delete). If an object consists of multiple patches, all of them must be removed together.

You can select a patch and then choose Edit > Select Linked (Command-L) to select the other patches in the same object.

Update Objects

Sometimes you may want to modify the model to fix some problems or implement some new ideas when it has been inserted into Unfolder. You can update it in the following ways:

Unfolder can find out which parts of the model have been modified and reload these parts only.

Unfolder Sync can be used to more quickly update objects if you model in Blender, Cinema 4D or Maya.
