Import Objects
Insert Objects
Ways to insert objects:
- Click the
button on the toolbar, then choose an OBJ file. - Choose File ▸ Insert… (⌘I), then choose an OBJ file.
- Drag-and-drop an OBJ file into the application window.
You can also insert objects from another Unfolder document (UFD file). In this case, the unfolded objects will add to the current document without re-unfolding.
Update Objects
Ways to update objects:
- Click the
button on the toolbar, then choose an OBJ file. - Choose File ▸ Update… (⌘U), then choose an OBJ file.
- Drag-and-drop an OBJ file into the application window and click the Update Objects button in the popped dialog.
Unfolder will compare the existing objects with the objects in the OBJ file, and reload the modified parts. You will not lose the editing you have done in the unmodified parts.
Unfolder Sync
Unfolder Sync is a plug-in for Blender and Cinema 4D, which allows you to send objects to Unfolder directly.
Steps to install the plug-in for Blender:
- Choose Unfolder ▸ Install Unfolder Sync… to download the plug-in.
- Open Blender's preferences (Edit ▸ Preferences…) and Switch to Add-ons tab.
- Click Install… button and choose the downloaded file.
- Check the checkbox before the list item to enable it.
Steps to install the plug-in for Cinema 4D:
- Choose Unfolder ▸ Install Unfolder Sync… to download the plug-in.
- Open Cinema 4D's preferences (Edit ▸ Preferences…).
- Click Open Preferences Folder… button.
- Move the downloaded file into the plugins folder.
- Restart Cinema 4D.
